Subsea Pipelines & Cables Conference 2024 in Norway

Norway – Connector Subsea Solutions (CSS) is proud to participate in the Subsea Pipelines & Cables Conference 2024, organised by the Norwegian Petroleum Society (NPF). The event was held on October 15th-16th, 2024 in Trondheim, Norway, gathering industry leaders to explore cutting-edge innovations in subsea pipeline technology. This year’s conference focused on the vulnerability of subsea pipelines in light of recent incidents, such as the Nord Stream and Baltic Connector pipeline disruptions. CSS engaged in discussions on addressing these risks and developing strategies to mitigate both sabotage and accidental damage to critical infrastructure.

CSS was represented by Kristen Andrew Foshaug, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Andrew Woodward, Sales Director. They presented CSS’ industry-leading solutions for pipeline integrity and operations, including:

  • Deepwater pipeline repairs, tie-ins, and decommissioning
  • Advanced remote installation tools
  • Emergency Pipeline Repair Systems (EPRS) and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) services
CSS Team Discussing with Key Stakeholders in regards to Subsea Security and Repair
CSS team discussion with key stakeholders

Andrew Woodward, Sales Director at CSS, remarked on the heightened interest from attendees in the company’s solutions, especially in light of the “new” threat of sabotage targeting critical infrastructure; a concern previously uncommon in the European region. While sabotage activities were often associated with regions like West Africa, recent incidents have highlighted the vulnerability of Europe’s subsea assets, leading to increased demand for CSS’ reliable and robust solutions.

During the event, several key clients for CSS highlighted the work undertaken on their major projects and assets by MORGRIP® and the welding, power and control division of CSS, reaffirming that for significant infrastructure modifications and repairs, CSS is a trusted supplier amongst top-level operators in the industry. CSS’ presence at the event reaffirmed its position as a trusted partner in subsea engineering, offering solutions that cater to the evolving needs of the industry. With over three decades of experience and DNV certification, the flagship MORGRIP® pipeline repair and tie-in solution from CSS, has become a global standard in subsea engineering, renowned for its reliability.

Kristen Andrew Foshaug, CTO at CSS, stated: “We were excited to have this platform to showcase how our innovative product lines have revolutionised safety and repair in subsea engineering.”
