Connector Subsea Solutions (CSS) ran parallel testing on MORGRIP® connectors for two major projects
In one bay, 2 off 28″ connectors completed extended pressure testing. In another, a 32″ connector finished FAT and was prepared for urgent deployment.
As Operations Manager Jamie Sutherland notes, “this large scale approach strengthens methods and keeps delivery moving without compromising safety.”
28″ MORGRIP® connectors successful extended testing

CSS completed comprehensive testing on 2 off 28″ MORGRIP® connectors, confirming strength, sealing performance and reliability. The programme included an eight hour hydrotest at 261 barg and a hot jack test beyond design pressure to confirm additional safety margin. In support of installation readiness, the team also ran trials at Wednesbury using new long stroke tensioners, developed from client feedback to shorten connector activation time and simplify offshore sequences.

32″ MORGRIP® connectors urgent shipment
Alongside the 28″ connectors, CSS completed build and testing on 1 off 32″ MORGRIP® connector, with FAT concluded ahead of urgent deployment. Our technicians are now assembling another 2 off 32″ connectors for EPRS stock.
