Connector Subsea Solutions (CSS) has received the “Gazelle of the Year 2021” award for the western region of Norway, a prestigious accolade that Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv presents to companies that meet select criteria for successful and rapid growth.
Since 2003, Dagens Næringsliv has named the country’s most successful companies and on Wednesday 12th January the DN team presented the award to Pål Magne Hisdal, Chairman of CSS, “we are proud to be recognised for the dedicated work that the whole CSS team has performed over many years, and for our commitment to deliver solutions that meet the demands of our ever-changing industry.”
This achievement is testament to the company’s success particularly over recent years and this is reflected in DN’s stringent selection criteria for Gazelle companies:
- Delivered approved accounts
- At least doubled turnover over four years
- Turnover of more than one million kroner the first year
- Positive overall operating result
- Avoid falling sales
- Been a corporation
The award was given at a surprise presentation, a hallmark of the honor organised by Dagens Næringsliv.
From humble beginnings, CSS has grown to cement itself as one of the most reputable companies in the world for delivering first class subsea pipeline repair, working with key market tier 1 contractors and operators in the oil and gas industry.
Kristen Andrew Foshaug, Chief Technology Officer of CSS explains “the keys to our rapid growth are our flexibility as a company to shift direction, expedite projects and make quick decisions, coupled with our holistic approach to managing engineering projects from concept through to installation.”
CSS’ continued success over the years has been underpinned by consistently meeting the demands of the most complex challenges, and recently, no challenge has been quite so unique as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the industry.
Ivar Kjaervik Hanson, Chief Executive Officer, reveals that “despite the significant effects of the pandemic on the industry, our digital and collaborative ways of working helped enable us to adapt our operations quickly and effectively to ensure that projects continued, and the workforce remained intact.”
As the market environment begins to normalise, the focus for CSS is to drive growth through new opportunities and grow responsibly.
Ivar continues, “during the time of reduced activity where other companies were scaling down, CSS chose to invest in new personnel and technologies to meet ambitious growth plans. We are now in a strong position to build on our highly established reputation for developing reliable subsea solutions.”
