CSS has completed the manufacture and testing of 2 off 8″ and 1 off 20″ MORGRIP® hybrid flange adaptors for a client’s offshore project scheduled for 2027. The equipment will be installed during the planned campaign and is now held in storage at our Wednesbury, UK facility until mobilisation.
Scope and delivery
The scope included the supply of MORGRIP® hybrid flange adaptors, together with workshop training and support for the upcoming installation. These connectors use a hybrid design with hydraulically operated centralising ball cages to aid alignment during activation. The work was completed on schedule and has been documented for storage.

Testing and familiarisation
Each connector completed an eight-hour hydrotest hold to confirm pressure retention. Ahead of installation, the vessel dive team visited the Wednesbury, UK facility to observe activation procedures. Our engineers walked through the sequence, answered technical questions, and shared practical tips to support safe diving operations.

EPRS Storage and readiness
The connectors will remain at CSS workshop for approximately twelve months before the offshore campaign. Prior to shipment, CSS will carry out inspections and a function check, so the equipment arrives ready for mobilisation.

Outcome and client feedback
All tests were completed successfully with positive feedback on project execution and product quality. The familiarisation sessions gave the dive team a clear understanding of the activation process and the connector features that support the upcoming offshore installation.
