Project Overview
Connector Subsea Solutions Isotek (CSSI) has recently supported an offshore deployment of a compact Hot Tap Cutter Unit (HTCU) by delivering the control hardware and a fully integrated software system. This combination enabled safe and reliable cutting operations for a long-standing client.
We were integral to the redesign of the HTCU to be more compact and easier to operate. Our team integrated a new control system that links subsea controllers with surface interfaces. The goal was simple: reduce setup time, support consistent operation, and give the user clear, timely feedback.
Software Fully Integrated – Deepwater Testing and Field Results

Every layer of the control system was written and tested in-house. From the program that runs subsea, to the user interface (UI) on the surface, the software provides guided workflows, real-time status, and robust diagnostics.
Before mobilisation, the system completed deepwater testing to confirm stability and function. During deployment, the HTCU performed exactly as expected.
Value for Operators
- Faster setup: Intuitive and updated interface support a faster project setup.
- Confident control: Real-time feedback supports precise cutting and safe decision-making.
- Better insight: Field data feeds continuous improvement and future campaigns.
Offshore-Ready Software Engineering Capability

Our equipment is supported by software engineers who can go offshore when needed. The team holds the required safety training and certification, including BOSIET, and work to client procedures on deck. Their presence on-site closes feedback loops quickly and helps keep the campaign moving.
