Connector Subsea Solutions (CSS) is pleased to confirm with PAPS, our exclusive partner in Bangkok, the successful installation of a bespoke MORGRIP® connector to complete a vital vertical bare-pipe tie-in, in the Gulf of Thailand.
An existing flange termination of the 5 ” riser was found to be unsuitable for long-term operation, so the client decided to cut it off and replace it with the flange terminated MORGRIP® Collet Connector.
Supervised by an experienced PAPS engineer, the connector was installed by the subsea contractor approximately halfway up the riser, with a number of flanged spools installed beneath it, including the final tie-in to the subsea pipeline.
This is the latest in several MORGRIP® installations in the region since the end user chose MORGRIP® as its EPRS connector.
For CSS, it was also an excellent opportunity to further increase its local technician capability and minimise the need to mobilise personnel from Europe for international clients.
