Subsea Distribution Takes Centre Stage for CSS at Subsea Expo

Connector Subsea Solutions (CSS) exhibited at Subsea Expo 2023 in Aberdeen, showcasing our growing portfolio of Subsea Distribution products.

Connector Subsea Solutions invited visitors to our stand to receive demonstrations of the Subsea Distribution portfolio which included our 2″ Ball Valves, Heavy Duty and Quick Connect ROV Connector Systems

In January 2022, we developed the world’s first compact soft seated 2-inch ball valve rated at 1,035 bar (15,000psi). This product is fully qualified to API 6A PR2F and API 17D, with manufacturing and testing as per API PSL3G.

Following on from this success, we pushed the envelope further by developing and qualifying a metal seated 2-inch ball valve to the same pressure rating and reference standards.

Our ball valve product development has continued as we now have a complete range of fully qualified industry leading compact soft seated and metal seated ball valves, including ½-inch, 1-inch and 2-inch bore sizes.

The Subsea Distribution team manning the stand during the event, Derek Mason, Sales Manager, and Kristian Karlsen, Senior Technical Sales Engineer, received multiple enquiries with strong interest shown in the range throughout the 3-day showcase.

Derek Mason was filmed on the stand by the media team at Subsea Expo, offering insight into our Ball Valves range. The video can be viewed on LinkedIn.

On the middle day of the event, Chris Matthews, Senior Design Engineer for MORGRIP® Systems, presented case studies from CSS’ previously executed fully remote pipeline and riser tie-in & repair operations, highlighting that the time has come for such operations to be performed safer and more cost effectively using fully remote solutions for shallow and deep waters.

Subsea Expo, the world’s largest exhibition and conference dedicated to the subsea sector, has been hailed a resounding success. The annual free-to-attend showcase of the UK’s £8billion underwater industry welcomed in excess of 6,000 visitors over its three-day run last month.

Over 150 companies and organisations from across the underwater industry featured in the exhibition, demonstrating the capability, innovation, technology and skills that make up this vibrant sector.
