These assess potential emergency subsea pipeline repair scenarios and define practical, cost‑effective solutions to enhance operational readiness and response capabilities.
DEFINING REQUIREMENTS AND DESIGN BASIS
A clear understanding of pipeline systems, potential emergency cases, and required response times is key to developing effective repair strategies.
We establish connector and clamp repair solutions, including any necessary installation tooling, specific to the client’s pipelines and operational environments. This covers variables such as seabed slope and composition, topography, water depth, diver requirements, spatial limitations, nearby infrastructure, and pipeline orientation.
Once requirements are defined, we develop and agree with the client an initial outline and design basis supported by general arrangement drawings supplied to the client.
This process can include detailed specification reviews and delivery of optimised proposals. Comprehensive project documentation outlines execution plans, test procedures, delivery schedules, and detailed component level design, along with procurement strategies for long-lead time items and spares to enable rapid mobilisation when required.
ENGINEERING OPTIMISATION AND DESIGN REFINEMENT
We deliver an optimised design for a connector or clamp to suit multiple pipeline configurations, accommodating variations in wall thickness, pressure, and outer diameter for controlled ID pipe.
Installation tooling is similarly refined to handle a range of pipeline sizes, orientations, and water depths. By introducing adaptable features into each tool design, we reduce equipment complexity and improve deployment efficiency across multiple installation scenarios.
DEVELOPING BESPOKE AND ADVANCED REPAIR SOLUTIONS
Emergency Pipeline Repair Systems (EPRS) FEED studies aim to achieve maximum capability from minimal investment. We deliver bespoke plans where standard repair strategies are insufficient, for scenarios that are high‑risk and or require novel solutions and or unique installation methodologies, such as vertical risers, bends, structure or valve replacements, and existing flange/hub connections.
